What information is collected?
The Application may collect information you provide when accessing, registering for, or using features in the service. Registration is not mandatory, but some features require a Google account.
The Application may also collect technical information such as device type, operating system, IP address, browser/app usage information, analytics events, crash diagnostics, and app interaction data.
- Account data from Google/Supabase Auth, such as account identifier, email, display name, and avatar when available.
- Contribution data such as submitted source links, event names, dates, locations, notes, descriptions, review status, and reviewer notes.
- Sound report data such as event id, selected sound level, optional note, timestamp, and report status.
Location data
The Application uses foreground location only after permission is granted. A monitoring coordinate may be saved on your device so the app can calculate distance, estimate risk, and schedule nearby early-warning notifications.
The saved monitoring coordinate may be sent to the EWS API during periodic nearby-warning refreshes to find verified events around that saved point. The app does not request a fresh device location while closed and does not include precise coordinates in notifications.
When you submit a sound report, the submitted coordinate is sent to the API to validate that the report is near the event. The service stores only a rounded coordinate suitable for approximate area grouping, not the exact submitted coordinate.
Legal basis and consent
Where applicable, processing relies on contract performance, consent, legitimate interests such as service security and improvement, and legal obligations. You may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Third-party services
The Application uses third-party services that have their own privacy policies, including Google Play Services, AdMob and Google UMP for ads/consent, Google Analytics for Firebase for coarse analytics, Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics, Supabase for authentication/storage/database services, and map/tile providers for map display.
Analytics and diagnostics must not include exact coordinates, exact distance, Google identity, tokens, source URLs, notes, request bodies, or response bodies.
Retention and deletion
User-provided data is retained only as needed for service purposes, legal compliance, safety workflows, and moderation. Pending/private account data, contribution drafts, and private history are deleted or anonymized during account deletion. Approved public safety information may be retained only after account identity is irreversibly removed.
You can request account or personal-data deletion through the app, by email, or through the public deletion request page. Admin review may be required to verify public web deletion requests.
Children's privacy
The Application is not intended for children under 16 years of age, or a higher digital-consent age where applicable.
Security
The Service Provider applies safeguards to protect information it processes and maintains, while recognizing that no security system can prevent every possible breach.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of your data. Contact [email protected] to exercise these rights.
